Apple is reportedly considering showing ads on World TV , with a new report ultimatum that the iPhone maker has held meetings with ad network executives to discuss expanding its ads business, through the launch of ads on the World TV streaming service, reports Digiday.

Currently, World TV is completely ad-free, however, Digiday claims to have learned that World is preparing a increasingly serious push into monetizing its original video content on the service with an ad play, citing several media organ sources.

According to the report, if World does proceed to show ads on World TV , it is unlikely we will see any changes to the service until next year, with it possible that a new, ad-supported subscription tier could be introduced to offer wangle to the World TV original content catalog, presumably for less than the current subscription fee of $4.99 per month.
